December

We started off December with the Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum. It was so beautiful and festive, we had a great time.
She is obsessed with coffee cups and knows how to drink out of them. She is too cute walking around with her Starbucks.
She heard Chris's car pull into the garage and she crawled to the door as fast as she could shouting "Dada!"
Happy 3rd birthday Nori! She is the best dog. She is so patient with Ellie and so affectionate with all of us.
I took Ellie to see Santa at Bass Pro Shop again this year. While we were in line she was so excited and kept pointing at him and saying "Santa!" Once it was her turn she wasn't so sure. I had to move away so they could take the official picture, at which point she started crying. Overall she did pretty good for a one year old though.
Admiring all of the Christmas decorations for sale at Home Depot.
We went Christmas shopping at Scheel's and tried to get her to practice her walking. She was pretty cute toddling around the aisles.
We went to see the Christmas light show at Deanna Rose. It is so fun and easy since you just pull up and watch from your car. Ellie was entertained for most of it.
The biggest thing that happened this month was that Ellie learned to walk! She seemed disinterested in walking for weeks and then all of a sudden took off. As soon as she started going she was confident and fast. Chris and I get a good workout following her around.
The weekend before Christmas I went to Indiana for my grandma's funeral. Bart and Joanie were so nice to give me their Southwest miles so I could fly up and back. It was a really special weekend to be with my dad's side of the family and remember my grandma.
Ellie found that bag of paprika in the pantry that afternoon and fell in love with it. She cracks us up with her little ideas and opinions.
Watching daddy shovel snow on Christmas Eve.
With all of our travel around Christmas we decided to wait and open gifts at home on New Year's Eve. Ellie was kind of overwhelmed by gift opening but once we showed her how to play with her new toys she was happy.
